PREPARE TO BE SCARED!

Connecticut Ghost Hunter Barry Pirro will share chilling stories form recent paranormal investigations, play recordings of real ghosts, and share ghosts hunting tips.  Audience members are invited to share their own ghostly tales.  Ages 12 and up.

Through art and artifacts meet the author, printer, political theorist, politician, Freemason, postmaster, scientist, inventor, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat you know as Benjamin Franklin!

Talk presented by Michael Norris of Armchair Art Tours.  Mike has spent twenty years at the Cloisters Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and has lectured on trips all over the world.

STORY OF THE STATUE OF LIBERTY

SOUL PAINTING

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 12 AND 19

Soul painting is a powerful intuitive creative practice.

Participants will use three colors of waterbase inks and three brushes as tools to unlock intuition and explore from within.

CHINESE WATERCOLOR BRUSH TECHNIQUES

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 9, 23 AND OCTOBER 7 FROM 10 AM TO 12 NOON.

Explore the art of Chinese brush painting combining watercolor techniques using traditional Chinese brush painting tools.  Registration is required.  Please call the library to register, 845-225-2439.

BEGINNING PORTRAITURE AND STILL-LIFE DRAWING

THURSDAYS SEPTEMBER 7 THROUGH OCTOBER 12 FROM 10 AM TO 12 NOON.

In this series of six classes students will use various types of graphite and charcoal, an will learn techniques to create expressive portraits and still-life drawings.

ART WITH KINGA – MONOPRINTS

Monoprinting is a form of printmaking that has lines or images that can only be made once.

LIBRARY TRUSTEE OPENINGS

Voters will go to the polls on Monday October 2, 2017 to elect two new trustees for the Reed Memorial Library. Petitions for trustee candidates are available at the Library.  Completed petitions must be submitted to the Library by 5 pm on September 1, 2017 in order for candidate names to appear on the ballot.

Trustee candidates must be residents of the Reed Memorial Public Library District. The district is defined as the Town of Carmel which is not in the Mahopac School District.  Trustees are elected to three year terms.  Candidates are requested to supply short bios with their completed petitions.
