PET NUTRITION

As you walk through the pet food aisles, do you feel  yourself bombarded by choices?  Which is best?  How do you know what has REAL chicken versus a chicken additive?  Dr. Kanouse will help you navigate the food aisles and give you some tips on proper nutrition.

CARING FOR A GERIATRIC PET

WEDNESDAY APRIL 2 AT 7 PM.  Presented by Dr. Kanouse, Brook Farm Veterinary Center.

As we get older our bodies change and the things that we used to do as teenagers may not be as easy anymore.  It happens to our pets too!  Do you know what is normal behavior as your pet ages?  Dr. Kanouse will answer your questions and help you distinguish between your pet’s growing pains and aging with grace.

PET PHOTO CONTEST

pet photo contestOur third annual Pet Photo Contest is open to all pet lovers and readers.  Photos must highlight reading and include your pet.  A few tips on how to take great pet photos are available here.

Submit photos March 21 through April 4 to survey@carmellibrary.org.

Tail Wagging Tutors

tail wagging tutors Saturday March 22 from 1 to 3 pm.

Children reading to dogs is more than just fun, it can help improve children’s literacy skills.  Children between the ages of 6 and 10 are invited to come to the Library and read to a dog from Therapy Dogs International.  Please call the Library for more information or to make a reading appointment, 845-225-2439.

LIBRARY REFERENDUM PASSED!

On December 9 voters approved the establishment of the Reed Memorial Public Library District, the funding of the library and the proposed board of trustees.

No part of this was easy.  It was made possible by the hard work of an exceptional library board and a dedicated community of library supporters.

There were many helping hands all along the way – thank you to each and every one!

CAUGHT – BOOK SIGNING

SATURDAY OCTOBER 26 FROM 11 AM TO 1 PM meet author Jeff Nichols.  His book “Caught: One Man’s Maniacal Pursuit of a Sixty Pound Striped Bass and his Experiences with the Black Market Fishing Industry” is a page turner filled with humor.  Over coffee and donuts visit with Jeff and hear about his exploits.  Signed books will be available for purchase.
