Library Vote

The Library vote is scheduled for Monday, October 2, 2023 from noon until 6:00 PM. The vote is held at the Gilead Presbyterian Church, 9 Church Street, Carmel, NY 10512. Anyone who is a registered voter in the Town of Carmel, who resides outside of the Mahopac School District is eligible to vote. If you’re not sure if you’re registered, you can look it up here.

This year, the Library Board is seeking an increase in compliance with the New York State Tax Cap law bringing the levy amount up to $342,396.

Running for a three-year term as Library trustee is Carmel resident, Linda Meltzner. You can read Linda’s bio here.

For those who are home-bound, or who are unable to vote in person due to illness, school, business, or vacation, absentee ballot applications are available at the Library and here. Completed absentee ballots must be returned to the Library by 6:00 PM on the day of the vote. Eligible Town of Carmel voters who are registered with the Putnam County Board of Elections as permanent absentees automatically receive a ballot mailed to their home.

If you have any questions, contact Library Director Donna Perolli at or call 845-225-2439.
